How Long Does It Take?

Since 1999, AMC has been a provider of the Leave No Trace education program, designed by the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics as a way to limit the human impact of outdoor recreation on natural spaces.

Through its seven principles, the Leave No Trace program targets everything from proper waste management and safety planning to consideration of others as a way to help walk a little bit more lightly when we're enjoying the outdoors.

Leave No Trace Principle #3: Dispose of Waste Properly

While all seven principles of the Leave No Trace program are important, we've seen increasing problems with visitors disposing of waste improperly in recent years. Please pack out any wrappers, food scraps, and other waste that you accumulate during your hike. These materials pollute the environment and attract wildlife.
