Massachusetts Regulations: Advocacy
Funding the Outdoor Recreation Program
An Act Creating the Outdoor Recreation Program
Bill H.757 | 193rd General Court
The Outdoor Recreation Act would create a statewide dedicated fund to ensure the success of the new Massachusetts Office of Outdoor Recreation and provide a grant for outdoor recreational purposes, with priority given to projects that benefit underserved and Environmental Justice populations across the Commonwealth. Bill H.757 | 193rd General Court
Protecting Old Growth Forests
An Act Authorizing the Establishment of Old Growth Forest Reserves
Bill S.485 | 191st General Court (2019-2020)
Now is our chance to save what remains of Massachusetts's old growth forests. A bill to protect these ancient woodlands on state lands is on the move in our state legislature. Please contact your state senator and urge her/him to call for a favorable finding on bill S.485 by the Senate Ways and Means Committee. Bill S.485 | 191st General Court (2019-2020)
Speak Up for Wildlife
An Act Relative to Pesticides
Bill H.825 | 193rd General Court
This legislation would monitor and reduce the use of Second Generation Anticoagulant Rodenticides (SGARs) in Massachusetts to protect wildlife and pets. SGARs are a particularly
toxic group of poisons used as a form of rodent control. These poisons, when
ingested, prevent the clotting of blood, and cause the animal that
ingested it to sustain heavy internal bleeding, which eventually causes death. Bill H.825 | 193rd General Court
