AMC supports people of all ages and backgrounds in their pursuit of outdoor experiences to reach personal and professional goals. Our accessible and affordable resources, workshops, and trainings, led by a team of experienced staff and volunteers, cater to anyone interested in expanding their knowledge and skills in outdoor activities, naturalist and scientific topics, conservation advocacy, trails stewardship, and outdoor leadership.

Successful protection and advocacy for the outdoors depends on your active participation. Learn how to take action for conservation from the country's oldest conservation and recreation organization. Center for Outdoor Learning and Leadership (COLL) can teach you trail maintenance skills, how to communicate with elected leaders, and more.

Leadership Training
Becoming a trained leader prepares you to share your love of the outdoors with others. Whether you're a volunteer, youth agency professional, teacher, summer camp staff, or simply want to equip yourself to lead friends, family, or groups in the outdoors, COLL offers comprehensive leadership courses and training.

Outdoor Leadership Training Weekend

Register »The AMC Worcester Chapter is facilitating this program and is open to outdoor enthusiasts who are interested in organizing and leading AMC Chapter activities and trips. Completion of the program qualifies participants to become leaders in training alongside an experienced leader for Hiking/Backpacking, Biking, Skiing, 20s/30s, Family Outings, Paddling, and other chapter-specific committees. SOLO Wilderness First Aid
Location: Hatfield, MA

Register »The ability to apply basic backcountry first aid is vital for any outdoor enthusiast, whether it's for yourself or others. Moving beyond urban first aid, this course teaches the skills necessary to identify and treat medical issues common to wilderness settings and to prepare for long-term care scenarios. Includes hands-on practice and lectures. Upon completion, participants receive 16-hour SOLO Wilderness First Aid certification. A CPR certification will be offered in the evening of the first day, this is optional. See the registration page for program highlights.
8-hr Leadership Training
Location: Madison, CT
