Presidential Range

I grew up in North Conway, NH and have been hiking in the Appalachians for years. The Presidential Range is my favorite place in the world! Containing the highest peaks of the White Mountains, its most notable summits are named for American presidents, followed by prominent public figures of the 18th and 19th centuries. For a truly spectacular trip, plan to stay overnight in AMC's Mizpah Spring, Lakes of the Clouds, and Madison Spring Huts. The views at sunset and sunrise are stunning. Cover photo by John Compton.
