Come Play With Us This Summer!

Happy summer everyone! We are reveling in the warm sunshine, green trees, and summer flowers blooming everywhere, and we have so many fun activities to fill these long summer days. The Third Annual Women's Retreat is coming up next month, and we are all looking forward to getting together in person for the Annual Business Meeting and Social in October. Also, please remember to check the activities page to see all the upcoming guided events, including family activities, paddling, cycling, hiking, climbing, and trail maintenance, something for everyone! The Third Annual Women's Retreat in July

Connecting Women, Connecting with Nature, the third annual women-only weekend retreat will be held Friday, July 26 through Sunday, July 28 at the AMC Noble View Outdoor Center in Russell, Massachusetts. We have scheduled a variety of traditional and non-traditional outdoor pursuits in the hope of attracting women to the joy and rejuvenation of being outdoors. Participants will enjoy hikes, paddling outings, writing, music, dance, speakers, and more. This is a women-only event that uses an inclusive definition of women. We respectfully welcome all women including non-binary, gender non-conforming, transwomen, and individuals who identify as a woman as the best expression of themselves. We invite women to stay over Friday and Saturday night in the Double Cottage or at the campsites at AMC Noble View Outdoor Center.

Save the Date: Annual Business Meeting and Celebration

We are very excited to be in the planning stages of our first in-person annual business meeting and social gathering since 2019, which will be held October 25, 2024 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the Summit View Meeting House in Holyoke. We will celebrate the Chapter's accomplishments to date, recognize our volunteers, and perhaps best of all, be able to socialize after years of virtual meetings, while enjoying beverages and a delicious buffet dinner. So please mark your calendars and stay tuned for more details about registration and tickets.

This message is usually used to provide information to you, our members. But this time, we'd like to get some information from you. We'd like to know what you love about being a member of the AMC and participating in the Chapter's activities. What do you see as the benefit to being a member of the AMC Western Mass Chapter? What experiences have you most enjoyed? Do you have a favorite memory or a favorite activity that you participated in? The Membership Committee would like to compile and share your stories on the website as a way to inform others about what we do in the Chapter. Please send your memories and stories to membership@amc-wma.org. We will share these stories anonymously or with just a first name, with your permission of course.
